Oxytocin 5mg
Oxytocin is a neuropeptide hormone studied for its roles in social behavior signaling, reproductive-related cell processes, and lactation-related pathways. In vitro studies have examined oxytocin's effects on mammary gland cell growth and differentiation, making it a subject of interest for investigating lactation-related cell processes.
Research in animal models has examined oxytocin's effects on social interaction behaviors. In one study, oxytocin was associated with increased social preference in male rodents and reversal of social avoidance behavior following social defeat. These effects were not directly tied to activity in the amygdala, suggesting that multiple brain regions may contribute to a broader "social brain network" under study.1 Separate research has examined oxytocin's effects on markers of social anxiety-related behavior in animal models, without similar effects on non-social anxiety measures.
Oxytocin has been studied for its role in reproductive-related processes, such as uterine contraction signaling and milk letdown reflexes.2 In animal studies, oxytocin administration has also been examined for its effects on sexual behavior markers in male rats, including latency to mount, intromission, and ejaculation.3
Research in animal models of substance self-administration has examined oxytocin's effects on methamphetamine self-administration and relapse-related behavior markers.4
Oxytocin is intended strictly for in vitro and in vivo (animal) laboratory research use only. It is not suitable for human or animal consumption, diagnostic use, or therapeutic applications, and has not been evaluated for safety or efficacy in humans or animals. Researchers are required to follow appropriate laboratory safety protocols when working with this product.
